Scope and Responsibility
Independent Use
RISS is not responsible for privacy practices of owners or owners who operate the RISS Privileged Administrator App without RISSHub Services, or users operating the RealTime Interactive Security Status App without RISSHub services.
RISS Privileged Administrator App
The RISS Privileged Administrator App is a standalone application that allows the Owner to configure an independent Firebase Realtime Database and Group structure. RISS is not responsible for the privacy practices or data policies of independent administrators. Users of such systems should refer to the Owner’s own privacy policy and ensure a valid privacy URL is in place.
Operators of RISS Privileged Administrator App are obligated to only log into and control their own database and may not log onto RISSHub services.
RealTime Interactive Security Status App and Users of RISSHub Services
The following applies to users utilizing the RealTime Interactive Security Status App with RISSHub services managed by RISS Support.
RISS is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our mobile application (“App”) and related services.
1. Information Collected
We collect the following types of personal and device-related information, which may be provided by the user:
- Optional Information:
- Name
- Phone number
- Room number
- User role (e.g., Admin, Staff, First Responder)
- Real-time location (if permission granted)
- Required Information:
- Validated email address
- Unique device-related identifier
2. Information Use
Information you provide is stored securely in a Firebase Realtime Database (RTDB) and is used to:
- Facilitate secure group communication and incident reporting.
- Share user role, location, and contact details within the assigned group.
- Allow group members to view real-time security statuses and incident reports.
You may choose at any time to opt out of location sharing through the app’s settings or by revoking location permissions in your device.
3. Data Visibility and Control
- Your optional data (name, phone, room number, role, location) is visible only to authenticated group members in your chosen group.
- You may disable your location sharing at any time. When disabled, your location will not be shown to others.
- All data is kept in your group’s designated RTDB section and not shared outside of that scope.
4. RISSHub RTDB Support
- RISSHub Support provides maintenance and oversight to the RISS RTDB and RISS Groups.
- RISSHub support may revoke visibility of a user’s data by marking the account as “unconfirmed”, in which case the user will still be signed in but restricted to a limited interface.
- RISSHub Support has the right to remove any User that does not follow RISSHub Terms of Service.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including secure Firebase authentication and real-time access rules. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
6. Your Rights
You may:
- View or update your optional data within the app.
- Stop sharing your location at any time.
- Delete your account by contacting RISS support.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on our website, with the “Effective Date” updated accordingly.
